Online Platforms Reaction Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification versus the original listing because of the remapping. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. They have suggested members to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Sizing System Changes Earlier, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Stories One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. A different member, located in Scotland, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she explained. Required Changes Another shopper, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she said. Marketplace Information The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
